Favourite Art from Tulca Exhibition

This is the piece of art I will remember from this year's Tulca exhibition.  I loved that David Hepher combined photography, paint and cement - intending to try something similar - maybe on a smaller scale - just to start with!

Story board for Animation Project

Opening scene - Miró's painting "Carnival of Harlequin".

Grandparents glide from left in dream like movement

Parents join them

Table becomes bed - image of self sleeping with dogs

Dream of drinking tea with my mother & grandmother - all are around the same age.

To conclude - move on to present time - next generation with Emma chasing Dáire.

The Meaning of The Colour Orange

Color Orange

Orange is a power color. It is one of the healing colors. It is said to increase the craving for food. It also stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. Lady luck's color is orange. I have been told that if a change of any kind is need in life, just burn an orange candle for 7 nights.

Orange Energy

While red is associated with fiery heat, orange is associated with the benign warmth of the sun. A dynamic color to be sure, orange offers a more thoughtful control than explosive red. Curiosity is a driving characteristic of orange, and with it comes exploration of new things.
Put some orange in your life when you want:
  • to spice things up when you feel time is dragging
  • to become more involved in something
  • to increase creativity
  • relief from things becoming too serious

Rothko defaced

This is a tweet in response to an article published on Sky News webpage (8 Oct. 12)on Rothko defaced at Tate Modern.

I see a lot of you do not understand modern art. Well Tate modern attracts more visitors (over 5 million) than any other art gallery in the UK. so clearly lots of people do love and appreciate modern art.

I do not understand why people want to watch a bal kicked up and down a ptich into a net and find it mind numbingly boring. But I would not celebrate someone burning down a football sadium and say "it is a stupid game anyway".

Our art is the greatest achievments of our civilisations. Whether it be Shakespeare, Picasso or the Angel of the North. This is the expression of what we are as a race and what is in our souls. But I understand there will always be those who think kicking a ball around is the height of man's achievments. I always find it funny how those that love watching ball kicked around are the ones who look down their noses at those that seek something more complex in life.

Mind Map re Reasons for Studying Art and Design

This is my first real attempt at blogging - And it worked.   In creating my mind map, I looked back on education and life experiences to date.  This lead to where I am at now and my hopes for the future.
